President's Message - College of Nurses of Sri Lanka
It is a profound honour and privilege to serve as the President of the College of Nursing Sri Lanka. I extend my sincere gratitude to our members for the confidence they have placed in me and look forward to working collaboratively to advance the nursing profession in our country.
The College of Nursing Sri Lanka has a proud legacy of promoting professional excellence, academic scholarship, leadership, and evidence-based practice. As the premier professional body representing nurses in Sri Lanka, we remain committed to strengthening nursing education, fostering research and innovation, supporting lifelong professional development, and advocating for policies that enhance the quality and standards of nursing practice.
Healthcare is evolving rapidly, bringing new opportunities as well as complex challenges. Nurses are at the forefront of delivering compassionate, safe, and person-centred care while responding to emerging health priorities. It is therefore essential that we continue to develop a highly competent nursing workforce equipped with scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, ethical values, and leadership capabilities to meet the changing needs of society.
During my tenure, the College will continue to expand opportunities for professional growth through scientific conferences, research dissemination, continuing professional development programmes, educational workshops, and scholarly publications. We will actively engage in national policy dialogues and strengthen partnerships with universities, healthcare institutions, professional organizations, and international nursing bodies to promote global collaboration and excellence in nursing.
I warmly invite every member to actively participate in the College’s activities and contribute your knowledge, experience, and innovative ideas. Together, we can build a stronger professional community that inspires excellence, advances nursing science, influences healthcare policy, and improves the health and well-being of the people of Sri Lanka.
